Maro started in Sydney in 2019, and it's still run from here. Australian owned, Australian staffed, Australian stock — when you order from us, the box leaves a warehouse in Sydney and the person who answers your email lives in the same city you do.
We're a small team, and a genuinely energetic one. People here take it personally when an order goes wrong and get a bit competitive about fixing it faster than anyone would expect. We care about doing this decently — treating suppliers and customers the way we'd want to be treated, being straight about what a product is and isn't, and being a business our own families are happy to be part of.
What lets a company our size compete on price is who we know. Over the years we've built direct relationships with manufacturers and suppliers around the world, and we import into Australia ourselves. No local middleman, no importer's margin stacked on before the product reaches you — and, just as importantly, a supply chain we can actually rely on. We know who makes what we sell.
We also put real money into technology, and that's deliberate. Stock levels, pricing and orders sync automatically across every channel we sell on, so what the website says is in stock genuinely is. We use automation and AI through the business — in how we buy, how we price, how quickly we answer you. It's not for show: it's how a small Australian team keeps up with companies many times our size, and it's the part of the business we're most committed to improving.
Over the last six years, more than 1,399 customers have rated us on eBay, with 92.9% positive feedback. We mention that not to boast, but because every one of those ratings was a real person whose day we hoped to make a little easier. A Mum buying a router that actually works. What we do
More than a shopfront.
Maro Online is an Australian company that imports, distributes and retails — not only a retailer. We bring stock into Australia directly from the manufacturers we work with, hold it here in Sydney, and supply it onward: to Australian businesses and resellers as a distributor, and straight to households as a retailer.
maro.com.au is our own storefront— one of the ways you can buy from us, and the one where we set the prices ourselves. You'll also find our products on eBay, Amazon and Kogan, and our musical instruments at maromusic.au. Same company, same warehouse, same people packing the boxes.
Importing directly is the reason the prices work. There's no local middleman adding a margin between the factory and your front door — which is how a small Australian family business ends up competing with the big names on price without cutting corners on the product.
